Meet our founder

Hi, I'm Harbor! 👋

I'm 10 years old and I started Harbored in Comfort because every kid deserves to feel happy, safe, and a little bit magical - especially kids who learn, play, or feel differently than other kids.

Harbor's Story

Big ideas can come from small humans with very big hearts.

When Harbor was little, she noticed that some of her friends needed different kinds of help to feel comfy at school, at parties, or even at the playground. Some friends needed quieter spaces. Others needed special toys that felt good to hold. Some just needed a friend to say, "You belong here."

So Harbor decided to do something about it. She started collecting sensory toys, writing kindness notes, and asking grown-ups to help her share comfort with more kids. That little idea grew into Harbored in Comfort - a place where every child with a disability or sensory need is welcomed exactly as they are.

Today, Harbor still picks every toy, every activity, and every color on this website (yes - the rainbow was her idea). She believes the world gets a whole lot brighter when we make room for everyone.

From Harbor's heart

Love, in every shape and size

Harbor likes to say that kindness is something you can make with your hands - a hug, a high-five, a heart. Every toy we send, every kindness note we write, and every activity in the Kids Zone is her way of sending a little heart out into the world.

When you support Harbored in Comfort, you're helping Harbor share that heart with kids who need it most.

In Harbor's own words

A speech from Harbor

Harbor shared this message to help other kids know they are never alone.

Hello, my name is Harbor Potter.

Looking at me, you may think I'm just your average 10-year-old girl who loves dance, Ella Langley, and yes, extra cheese on everything.

But there's something about me you can't see.

I have ADHD and autism, and for as long as I can remember I felt different, and learning didn't come easily to me at all.

And the truth is... so many children with learning differences get REALLY good at masking and staying silent through their struggles because they don't want to seem different.

But I want them to know this...

Different is not broken. And learning differently does not mean learning less.

That's why I created Harbored in Comfort. Through my initiative, I help create Safe Harbor Corners in classrooms and provide Comfort Kits with quiet fidgets, sensory tools, and encouragement cards that help children feel safe, supported, and understood.

My dream is for every child to know they are never alone, because sometimes all it takes is... one safe space... one helping hand... or one person who believes in you to unlock a superpower you never knew you had.

Because every child deserves comfort for their heart, their mind, and a safe harbor to belong.

Thank you. 💛
